Biden’s Protection Division pronounces new multi-billion-dollar help packages for Ukraine


The Division of Protection (DoD) introduced two weapons packages for Ukraine on Monday, totaling $2.47 billion. 

The primary of the 2, the Presidential Drawdown Authority package deal, with an “estimated worth” of $1.25 billion, is supposed to “present Ukraine extra capabilities to fulfill its most pressing wants, together with: missiles for air protection; munitions for rocket methods and artillery; and anti-tank weapons,” the DoD said in a press launch.

“As well as, DoD introduced an roughly $1.22 billion Ukraine Safety Help Initiative (USAI) package deal to offer Ukraine with extra air protection, air-to-ground, Unmanned Aerial Techniques, and different capabilities to battle Russian aggression.”

The help packages come because the nationwide debt tracker stands at greater than $36 billion as of Dec. 26.

The DoD outlined the packages’ capabilities, together with missile methods, missiles, munitions, ammunition, anti-armor methods, medical gear and extra.

“That is the Biden Administration’s twenty-third USAI package deal and seventy-third tranche of apparatus to be supplied from DoD inventories for Ukraine since August 2021,” the assertion reads. 

“America continues to work along with some 50 Allies and companions by means of the Ukraine Protection Contact Group and its related Functionality Coalitions to offer the help Ukraine must prevail in its battle in opposition to Russian aggression.”
